MS Heavy Haul – Matt Smith Heavy Haul

Equipment

Lowboy Trucking

A deck that rides inches off the pavement, for tall and heavy equipment that needs every bit of clearance.

What It Is

What a Lowboy Is Built For

A lowboy trailer drops the deck between the gooseneck and the rear axles, so the load sits much closer to the road than it would on a standard trailer. That lower ride height is what lets tall equipment pass under bridges, overpasses and power lines while staying inside legal height limits, or close enough that a permit covers the rest.

It is also the trailer most heavy haul work starts with, which is why lowboy trucking sits at the core of what we run, alongside our RGN, multi-axle and step deck equipment.

Construction Equipment

Excavators, dozers and other tall construction machines that need a low deck to stay under height limits.

Industrial Machinery

Heavy industrial machinery and components moving between plants, ports and job sites.

Steel & Fabrications

Steel structures and fabricated assemblies, tarped or wrapped and secured for the full trip.

How We Plan It

How We Plan a Lowboy Move

Every lowboy load starts with the numbers: length, width, height and weight, plus how the piece loads and where it can be chained. From there we choose the deck and axle setup, check the route for clearance and weight restrictions, and pull the permits each state requires. When a route survey or escort is needed, our own team handles it, so the plan stays in one set of hands from quote to delivery.

On the road, the basics matter: proper securement, oversize banners and flags, and equipment checks before the truck rolls. If something changes along the way, dispatch is available 24/7 and you will hear about it from us directly.

Where We Run Lowboys

We’re based in Dallas, Texas, and most of our lowboy work runs across the Southeast, from Texas and Louisiana to Alabama, Georgia and the Carolinas. We also take long cross-country lanes when a load needs to go farther. Not sure a lowboy is the right call? Send the specs and we’ll tell you honestly whether a lowboy, RGN, multi-axle setup or step deck makes more sense.
