Equipment

RGN Transport

Removable gooseneck trailers for equipment that drives on and off under its own power.

What It Is

Why Choose an RGN

On an RGN, short for removable gooseneck, the gooseneck detaches and the front of the trailer lowers to the ground, turning the deck into a ramp. Self-propelled equipment can drive straight on, so there is no crane to schedule and less handling at both ends of the move.

For tracked and wheeled machines, that usually makes loading quicker and easier on the equipment and the crew. An RGN also keeps the deck low, so many machines that would be too tall on a standard trailer can travel within height limits.

Earthmoving Equipment

Wheel loaders, dozers, graders and tracked excavators that can drive on and off the deck.

Agricultural Machines

Ag tractors, combines and other farm equipment moving between dealers, farms and shops.

Industrial Machines

Tracked and wheeled industrial machines, plus attachments that come off for transport.

How We Plan It

Planning an RGN Move

We start with the machine’s dimensions, operating weight and any attachments that come off for the trip. Those numbers decide the deck length, the axle setup and whether the load needs oversize permits or escorts. Our in-house permit service pulls the permits and can run route surveys, and our own escort service covers loads that need pilot cars, so the truck is not waiting on a third party.

We also talk through the job site before pickup: where the trailer can set up, whether the ground will hold the detached gooseneck, and who will be there to drive the machine on. Small details like that keep a delivery on schedule.

RGN photos are on the way.
Our recent moves page features multi-axle lowboy loads right now. We’ll add RGN loads as those jobs roll, and we’re glad to walk you through a comparable move when you call.

Coverage

Where We Run RGN Loads

Home base is Dallas, Texas. Most RGN work runs across the Southeast, including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Arkansas and the Carolinas, and we take loads nationwide when the job calls for it. See the full list of areas we serve.

If you are not sure an RGN is the best fit, send us the make and model. We will tell you plainly whether an RGN, a lowboy or a multi-axle setup is the better way to move it.

Have a machine that drives on?

Tell us the make, model and weight, plus pickup and delivery, and we’ll quote the right RGN setup.
